Czech Army to Modernize Soldier Equipment

The Czech military plans to modernize soldier equipment between 2014 and 2015. The first tender will cover procurement of 2,400 ballistic vests worth 7.866 million USD.

The Czech soldiers also lack new uniforms. The contract for delivery of the new uniforms is worth 4.719 million USD. Later on, the military will also announce tenders for supply of backpacks and boots. As per Lt Gen Petr Pavel, Chief of the General Staff, the Army also plans to unify helmets since nowadays soldiers use various types.
