About Vectronix AG

Vectronix is a leader in the development and manufacturing of integrated handheld, module, and precision systems for observation, detection, geo-positioning, and targeting solutions. Leveraging core competencies in electro-optics, laser range finding, and north-finding technologies, Vectronix AG supports the requirements of defense and law enforcement. Headquartered in Heerbrugg, Switzerland. Vectronix AG is owned by Sagem (Safran group) and maintains two subsidiaries with four branches in the U.S.

Vectronix introduces revolutionary Precision Target Location Systems

Vectronix AG, the Swiss based global leader in portable optronics solutions, introduces STERNA – a full range of ultra-light, non-magnetic Precision Target Location Systems (PTLS).

All STERNA Precision Target Location Systems (PTLS) are based on Vectronix` new and unrestricted north-finding capability providing very precise target coordinates, even in magnetically charged or GPS-denied settings meeting the requirements of multiple mission scenarios.

STERNA`s extreme lightweight design – with a total system weight starting at below 4 kg - makes it the first true man-portable solution of its kind. Depending on the mission profile, users can select today from 4 mission-ready STERNA system solutions providing independent north finding, eye-safe long distance laser range finding, brilliant day view optics plus the required night view capabilities. STERNA PTLS seamlessly integrates the performances of the well-known observation products PLRF25, VECTOR, MOSKITO and JIM LR (LRTV). All 4 system configurations are in production stage, ready for orders and deliveries.

The targeting advantage of STERNA PTLS over other solutions reduces collateral damage while achieving a high first-round / fire-for-effect accuracy. STERNA PTLS are designed to accomplish around-the-clock missions, totally independent, under worst weather and environmental conditions.

The flexibility of STERNA PTLS allows for a perfect match with the requirements of today’s Close Air Support, Forward Observer, Forward Air Controller or Joint Tactical Air Controller.

Pocket Laser Range Finder – PLRF25C

The newest generation of the Vectronix PLRF offers snipers/spotters, marksmen and forward observers, the smallest, most powerful MILSPEC eye-safe Laser Range Finder available. Ranging measurements up to 6,000 m, as well as accurate angle measurements, are no problem for the lightweight, compact unit. Weighing 500 g and measuring only 131 x 88 x 55 mm, the PLRF25C is ready for combat operation in the most extreme conditions. The PLRF25C fits easily in any pocket and is water resistant up to 1 m (optional 10 m).

Image Intensifiers – Monocular Night Vision - TARSIUS18

TARSIUS18 boasts miniaturized components and wide variety of standard 18 mm image intensifier tube. Weighing only 300g it sets the new standard in night vision technology. The tube adjusts itself to varying levels of ambient light (autogating) which is essential when operating in urban terrain. In addition, there is a knob for deliberate brightness control allowing optimum recognition of details. With its Smart Mount, TARSIUS18 can be configured specifically for the user’s operational scenario. Without cumbersome tools or adapters, it transitions quickly between handheld use, system, face mask and helmet mounting, either in single or dual configuration. Surveillance range and effectiveness are remarkably enhanced with the use of the optional 3x Magnification Lens. The unique blend of high performance, compactness, ergonomic design and flexibility provides users with superior situational awareness and agility.

Thermal Acquisition Clip-on System – TACS-M

The TACS-M easily attaches to existing Night Vision Devices to add additional capabilities. Low power consumption, optimal sensor technology and high-performance optics integrate seamlessly to provide state-of-the-art long-wave infrared technology. Since TACS-M mounts on currently-existing NVDs with a bracket, the clip-on technology allows increased capabilities without the need to refit helmets for special equipment. TACS-M consumes very little power and consequently can be used for extended periods of time. The unit’s waterproof and rugged construction can withstand the harshest environments.

Compact Day & Night – Observation & Location Unit – MOSKITO

MOSKITO includes all the essential day/night viewing, measuring and geo-location functions in a most compact and user-friendly package. MOSKITO measures range, azimuth and vertical angle. In addition, it incorporates the latest image intensifier technology for night time viewing. Options include a C/A code GPS receiver, Bluetooth module and cable for data transfer to C4I systems. Laser rangefinder, day and night channel are matched to each other and optimized for close and medium range applications to 10,000 m. The result is an ergonomic, robust, compact and lightweight piece of equipment (< 1.2 kg) which adapts to a multitude of mission scenarios.
